The short version: you share photos, documents and stories about someone you love, and we use them to build a tribute site for you. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we are
TributeMaker is run by SHORE AI LLC, based in Malibu, California (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at info@tributemaker.com.
What you give us, and what happens to it
- Your messages. When you use the contact form, your name, email, optional phone number and message are sent to us by a form service so we can write back.
- Photos, documents and stories. When we build a tribute site for you, you give us photos, scans, clippings and your own words about them. We use them only to build your site. You stay the owner of everything you give us. We never take originals by mail.
- Names and details about other people. Tribute sites are about real people, some of whom have died and some of whom are living. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing and what the family is comfortable seeing. You decide what goes on your site, and you review it before anyone else sees it.
- Payment. If we charge for a site, payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider sees your IP address and basic request details. We use your IP address to limit abuse, such as too many requests in an hour.
Who else handles it
- An AI service provider may help read what you give us and draft captions and text for your review. We send only what is needed for that.
- A form service delivers your contact messages to us.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Our hosting provider runs the site.
- Google Fonts delivers the typefaces on the page, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use advertising cookies.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Plausible to count visits and see which pages are used. They receive the page address without any query string, your browser and device type, and an approximate location. Plausible uses no cookies; Google Analytics may set cookies. Advertising features and ad personalization are turned off. What you give us for a tribute site is never sent to either tool.
Sensitive information
Memorial material can include health, family or financial details. Please leave out Social Security numbers, account numbers and anything you would not want a relative to see. This site never asks for them.
Your choices
You can email us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and we will respond promptly. If you live in California or another state with privacy rights, you may have additional rights, and we will honor valid requests.
Security
We use encrypted connections and keep access to the site and its data limited. No system is perfectly secure, so we also keep what we hold to a minimum.
Children
TributeMaker is for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this page, we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use what you give us, we will say so on the site.
